A beautiful and fascinating account of my favourite artist, and excellent portrayal by Timothy Spall of the genius and amateur human being. How often can that be said of geniuses? As a whole though, I felt there was something missing, something more gripping, a climax, his work finally being recognised? Spall's definitely a shout for the other Academy next year!
