Review of Mr. Turner (2014) by Scraper — 02 Jul 2017
Mr. Turner is a film as impressionistic as one of his paintings. Linking scenes in a linear way didn't quite work for me so I began to group them together in my mind and then appreciated chunks of time as vignettes.
The Olde English dialogue is rough but the jokes and conclusions of conversations eventually come through. If you can bump along to the choppiness, the portrayals were warm and characters well-detailed.
