Critics are idiots, and I don't believe they actually sat through this. Literally every audience shown within the film is bored to tears and uncomfortable. That will be you.
There is no conflict, the characters don't change, the editing and cinematography are ugly and graceless (not intentionally- this is a biopic of a painter), and it takes for freaking ever for these people to die. I would have left, but I saw it at Cannes and couldn't stumble out over everyone's gowns.
I love Turner's paintings less because of this movie- he was apparently an ape.
If you like tedium interrupted with a grunting, nasty jerk humping various women WHO LOVE THIS FOR SOME REASON, then eat your heart out baby. Otherwise, don't waste your life on this crappy movie.
