Review of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) by Lucas K — 12 Apr 2009
Jimmy Stuart's hair alone should give the movie four stars. The movie starts off strong, but I feel it lost steam with his "strategy" to clear his name. The ending left me questioning what would have happened if Claude Rains keeps his cool: it all depends on his confession.
Of course, how the villain controls the whole media was brilliant, and disturbingly relevant to today.
