This is one of the best movies I have EVER seen. Jimmy Stewart stars as Jeff Smith an Idealistic boy scout leader from a small town. Mr. Smith is appointed senetor by a Mr. Payne on the grounds that he will do as he is told.
However, upon appointing Smith, senator Payne has created an enemy. Smith wishes to establish a camp for boys, on the same ground that Payne wishes to construct a Dam. The movie climaxes in a long philibuster sequence which iis probably among the greatest scenes ever filmed.
