Review of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) by Nefnie L — 10 Mar 2009
James Stewart is perfectly cast as an innocent and honorable senator trying to do the right thing despite the manipulation and corruptness of his peers. Watching him win over his distractors and fighting for his cause through use of a drawn-out filibuster is heartwarming.
His spirit is contagious and makes one wish our elected officials were like that. Truly one of the best movies ever made.
