Review of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) by John W — 13 Jul 2012
A real classic for Jimmy Stewart's character's earnest, heartfelt decency and Capra's in-your-face plea for Americans to remember their country's ideals. Don't let the sappiness or the unrealistic plot put you off.
As message movies go, this is one of the best.
