The movie is just cute enough to be a 5 because Sam Rockwell is one of the best actors I know; otherwise, five it would have held at for sure. Anna Kendrick's character is just too childish, no matter how "kooky" Sam's character is, I still think a more mature woman would have filled out all of his needs, charm, and sensibilities in the movie.

Every good actor needs their counterpart to challenge them, and, unfortunately, I think Anna Kendrick just isn't seasoned enough (yet) to be in league with the likes of Sam Rockwell. This movie could have been really awesome with a Keira Knightley if you wanted to go with a more sexy route or a Melissa McCarthy if you wanted to stay on the comical route.

.. the same clean-cut as with Kendrick... oh what might have been! DUMB ENDINGS always deserve a knock-off, which is why it goes back to a five...
