Review of Mr. Popper's Penguins (2011) by Aashish C — 23 Dec 2011

An attempted feel good family movie that has a few good moments, but overall just felt kinda meh... I didn't care about the penguins enough, I thought the storyline itself went from interesting to kinda ridiculous. Carey put in a solid performance as did all of the supporting cast, but in the end they were let down by a poorly developed story that didn't really give them anything to work with. Even the penguins kinda felt sidelined, which is kinda crazy considering the entire movie centers around everyone's interactions with them.

As I said, overall just a great big meh.
