Review of Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014) by Jacob B — 30 Jun 2018
Mr. Peabody & Sherman isn't perfect. Sometimes the movie can get cringey and some of the scenes seem to be complete ass pulls. But Mr. Peabody & Sherman isn't really terrible. Heck, it's not really bad.
The animation is colourful, the voice acting is good and the humour is enjoyable. It helps this movie in terms of quality that the director was the same guy who was one of the directors of The Lion King, one of my favourite Disney movies ever.
The plot is convoluted but, compared to the more simplistic time-travel movies in a post-Back to the Future era, it helps the movie stand out a bit more. It does teach a bit about history and I can't fault the movie for encouraging kids to learn more about the French Revolution and the invasion of Troy.
This movie won't win any awards but in the end, it's still a fun DreamWorks movie.
