Review of Mr. Mom (1983) by Mike S — 01 Jul 2010
MR. MOM is a solid, if unspectacular, comedy starring Michael Keaton. Much of the film is spent watching Keaton's character trying to maintain order in his home while he's taking care of the children with his wife working at an advertising agency as a newly appointed executive. Not much happens, here, though, outside of watching Keaton try to suppress his boredom and ultimately succumb to it.
To be sure, there are some funny moments along the way, but that's all the film is, several funny moments strung together and headed towards an ending that is so cliche that you know how it'll end from the very moment you start watching the film.
