Review of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (2007) by Kim F — 11 May 2010
I'm 30 and I adore this movie! The characters are all great, including the "Mutant", who, ironically, is a perfect caricature of the people who give this movie such poor reviews! He didn't see the magic of Mr.
Magorium's Wonder Emporium and neither do they! The main plot is a very gentle way to introduce little kids to the concept of death, and adults could learn a lot from Mr. Magorium's attitude about his own demise.
The dialogue is humorous and light-hearted. Most adults can relate to Molly Mahoney's character: feeling like she's stuck in a rut and doesn't have direction in life - or the confidence to find it.
The soundtrack is AMAZING! Overall this is a great, feel good movie about life and death; filled with relatable characters and many gems of wisdom throughout. As Mr. Magorium so perfectly put it: "Your life is an occasion.
Rise to it.".
