It might have work it this film was release in the 80s. Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium is a sad excuse of making a family film about a shop that has all the wonders of the world, magically turn to life for any child who wants a toy.
Sadly, in the 21st century its a sad belief and what we have is an entertaining dud that fails to deliver some good laughs and ended up being horribly written. Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman are probably the only cast in the film that tries very hard to make the characters believable but sadly I felt they are trying really hard to even enjoy acting in this movie.
A family film that is best left unattended.
