Review of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (2007) by Emily T — 20 Dec 2010
It just didn't work for me. Too many character flaws/oversights. Like why didn't Molly believe the magic could return? Seriously? Natalie Portman's acting was dull. And the end provided no closure for certain issues-- like the little boy never had any kid friends at the end.
..and the little potential love interest between Molly and her past classmate didn't return...and the potential love interest between her and Henry never sparked...I know this is a kid film, so no 7 year old is going to care OR notice.
But if you're an adult, you'll notice these unfinished endings and just wonder if the screen writer perhaps gave up 2/3ds of the way through the script.
