This is definitely a kid movie, but it's more palatable for an adult's cinematic appetite. Some of the subtle humor might be lost on a kid, but they make up for it with all of the Willy Wonka-esque colors and magic.
Dustin Hoffman, at times, sounded and acted like Rain Man. It was a little awkward, similar to how I felt watching Robert De Niro in Stardust - guilty for the impulse to critique this acclaimed actor's acting.
The ending was cheesy, but I'm sure kids will like this movie. Not exactly our generation's Willy Wonka, but nice try.
