Review of Mr. Jones (2013) by Cade H — 17 Oct 2015
Mr Jones is a creepy film that starts out strong but ends up getting to weird and trippy for my liking. A couple decided to move to a cabin the woods to film a documentary and ends up finding a long lost artist who creates these scarecrows made of trees.
They make every dumb move characters in horror films make and it got to be annoying after awhile because it was so predictable. There are a few scenes that are very creepy and thrilling but nothing ends up happening, you keep waiting for something bad and it just ends up in a dead end.
Once the final 20 minutes or so of the film starts, thats when the downhill ride begins. They use strange camera effects and other stuff I don't want to take the time to explain, but lets just say it seems like the director took drugs and had a fun time in the editing room.
The strong start and few scary scenes were good but the final act was enough to ruin the film for the most part. Hard to recommend but its not the worst choice if your looking for a scary movie.
