Noah Baumbach is always somewhat pretentious but in his other films this is usually so apparent that it is a joke in itself or charming enough that it can be ignored. That isn't the case with this though.
All of the characters are dickheads, so far up their own arses that it just isn't very enjoyable or beneficial watching them.
