OK, this film isn't exactly what you'd expect from the usual Baker Street sleuth. Instead Mr Holmes centres around Sherlock's life after retirement. If you're expecting thrills, twists and turns you'll be disappointed, but the film is kept me enthralled throughout.
Ian McKellen is superbly cast as Sherlock, and I was utterly convinced by his portrayal of the elderly man, he really was brilliant.
