This movie takes just over 40 minutes to get going and by then I was feeling a little burnt out.

Jaeden Martell manages to sell his character, but that's pretty much the best attribute this film has to offer, because this is another one of those Stephen King stories that only works in its original narrative medium. Neither the mystery, nor the morality lesson, and certainly not the suspense make this movie feel like a complete experience, in fact, its conclusion feels like the end of an episode of a TV show that offers no real resolution, it just stopped because it had nowhere else to go. However, this comes as no surprise. Not when it comes to Stephen King adaptations, and especially not when Netflix is involved.
