Review of Mr. Deeds (2002) by Ricky T — 19 Aug 2011
Corny and cringe-inducing, but good for a couple of chuckles. The first half was a struggle to get through, with its abundance of lame and immature antics, but it gets better in the second half, where it goes up a few steps on the enjoyment ladder.
Mainly with credit to Winona Ryder, who added some well-needed star quality with her heartfelt performance. Not something I'd recommend in good conscience though, as the fail-to-hit ratio is extremely divergent.
