Review of Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr. (1999) by Ben B — 09 Jul 2007
Leuchter is an idiot. A complete simpleton--beyond ignorant. Still, this is a genuinely fascinating look into a man whose ego is greater than his knowledge. It's interesting how he made himself out to be a martyr--how he continuously put the blame on others for his poor fortune. The only one he had to blame was himself. The experiments he did at Auschwitz were obviously flawed and proved nothing. The scientist who conducted the chemical analysis even testified as such.
Leuchter is an idiot... so perhaps this is pure exploitation as I rather enjoyed watching him make a fool of himself and flush his life away. As a documentary it was honest and gripping and impartial to either side. Though anyone with even the most remote amount of common sense can see the flaws in Leuchter's argument.
See it if you're at all interested in execution procedure or idiots denying the existence of the Holocaust.
