Mr Brooks is a slow, twisty psychological drama. The psychic exchanges between Kevin Costner and William Hurt is one of the best aspects of this film. It may not have received the best cinematography or the execution that it's subject required, but however, it's still got enough plot elements in it that would intrigue the viewer. The story relies on too many coincidences, however keeping it aside, it's ending is well crafted and has got many stunning twists.
