Review of Mr. Brooks (2007) by John W — 10 Feb 2010
This movie was intense, fast-paced, and intriguing. A great concept combined with excellent acting really brought this story to life. The person that really steals the show is William Hurt. He's great as the devil on Costner's one shoulder and makes me feel like he could influence me to do the wrong thing, too! The twist at the end was top-notch, not to mention that the main character (and exploration of his psychotic mind) was very creepy.
Be forewarned of the darkness that consumes this movie. There are not any smiling moments in this movie (despite comedian Dane Cook's presence amidst the cast). This one gets a big thumbs up!
