Review of Mr. Brooks (2007) by Tj H — 07 Feb 2012
With William Hurt acting as a personified Id of Kevin Costner's character, we can have a clarifying view of a psychopath battling with(or against) his wants and needs, whether they deal with his family or with his 'illness' of being addicted to murder.
A few side stories or complications arise with Mr. Brooks's daughter, an eye witness to his recent murder, and a devoted detective, which aren't always concluded satisfactorily for the viewer but all have the same thing in common: its complicated, being a serial-psycho killer! You don't get to see these actors shine the way they are able to in this thriller too often, so try and appreciate the rare occurence of Costner playing a 'bad guy'.
