Review of Mr. Brooks (2007) by Sarah R — 05 Sep 2012
"people that make reviews with quotes and spoilers are fucking douchebags".
I am very sad to admit that I do not own this movie. I just so happened to catch it on Showtime the other day and HAD to watch it again. what a taught, suspenseful, smart, wonderfully acted, beautifully written psychological thriller this movie is! Even the biggest of Kevin Costner critics has to admit he nails this one, in fact I believe I remember seeing an interview with the writers stating that they wrote the part for him to play (feel free to correct me if im wrong). at any rate, he and William Hurt play seamlessly against one another giving you a look into the mind of a serial killer like you've never seen before. even though I wanted to slap the shit out of dane cook a couple times I realize that his character actually calls for it and he tackles his first dramatic performance with grace among heavyweights like Costner, Hurt and Demi Moore who's secondary storyline was a surprise to me I didnt see her character being such a big part of the movie at the beginning so I was relieved to find that her talents did not go to waste as a minor player. twists and turns abound and will have you holding on till the very last second. BUY THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
