Review of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) by Freddy — 14 Jun 2006
Indeed , a genius premise. I liked the contrast of restrained acting and humor vs. amps at 11 action. There is good chemistry b/w you know who. The desert, elevator and car chase action scenes are funny and well-executed.
The motel interrogation scene was a stitch. Main flaw--Pitt's acting failed to deliver the impulsivity his character claims to have. After a similarly too-reserved performance in Troy, he needs to show he can cut loose (at least on occassion) like he did in Twelve Monkeys.
The dialogue gets repetitive in the second half, and the final action scene, despite the clever setting, is a dud. All that being said, for me, this movie is good times.
