Review of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) by Beverly L — 17 Nov 2012
I heavily disagree with the ratings this movie has gotten -- I think it's a better put-together movie than its given credit for. I have always had a place in my heart for spy movies, and this one fits among them quite nicely.
I think it worked well for Pitt and Jolie that they were attracted to each other in real life, because they translated that into something real on-screen. That's what makes a difference in some movies, is the quality of the on-screen chemistry between the major characters.
I BELIEVED them, if that makes any sense, which helped make the movie seem somewhat realistic despite it being a movie about spies, and more so a movie about two spies who end up marrying one another purely by accident.
I just find it interesting that they went so long without realizing that about one another...
