Review of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) by Stephen J — 24 Oct 2013
Mr. & Mrs. Smith plays to the lowest common denominator, assuming that star power, Brad and Angelina's looks, and demolition and shoot-em-up special effects will woo audiences. It might really captivate young men under the age of seventeen, but the rest of us will be annoyed by the film's assumption that it will be great simply because of Brangelina.
The concept is a good one, but it was poorly executed. If you're into action cliches and watching things get destroyed needlessly, this is for you. It's a two hour movie that is two hours too long and if you don't see it, you're not missing anything.
