Bernie Mac is surprisingly less annoying in this film, but does not add quite enough to deliver it from blandness. Charles Stone is a solid director and he tells this story very well...for a baseball comedy, some of the camera work is very inspired.
..but in the end, the story probably wasn't worth being told.
