Review of Mr. 3000 (2004) by Shelby ? — 27 May 2007
Bernie Mac puts on a top-notch performance here as soon-to-be hall-of-famer Stan Ross. When Ross is approaching his 3,000th hit, the media is just disgusted by his attitude towards everyone. He obviously get his hit, but then announces after the game that he is retiring from the game.
He then lets down his whole team & goes off into his own world. 9 years later, Ross's jersey is then retired by the Brewers. As the ceremony is going on, the club finds out that 3 of his hits never counted & that Ross only has 2,997 hits.
Ross is devistated by the news & announces that he wants to make a comeback with his old team. Everything after this, you gotta see for yourself. Like I said earlier, Bernie puts on a top-notch performance & the supporting cast is just incredible.
Totally recommended for laid-back baseball fans in general & everyone else that is looking for something funny to see.
