Review of Mozart and the Whale (2005) by Joe B — 16 Jan 2008
Here, in the vein of "The Other Sister," is another "dramedy" about mentally handicapped people which contains all the same flaws as its predecessor. Josh Hartnett and Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill) star as two young adults with Aspberger's Syndrome whose personality quirks and mental challenges are played strictly for laughs.
Josh Hartnett is very good, Radha Mitchell not so much, but both of them are hampered by the ridiculous script from Ron Bass (who also wrote "Rain Man," which explored similar territory). Pass.
