Review of Mozart and the Whale (2005) by Juhi R — 06 Jun 2008
Mostly light-hearted, but packs a huge punch. Hartnett is very believable - I often find that actors, especially mainstream ones, deliver a good performance, though not a seamless one. Mitchell and Hartnett are great together - I really appreciated the feel this film gave to the condition of Asperger's.
It's full of interesting characters, and although it has a rather touch-and-go plot, I felt this reflected the turmoil of the characters. All in all, and inspiring and feel-good film, with as much humour as it has depth and meaning.
