Review of Moxie (2021) by Wh12312313 — 28 Mar 2021
This is framed as a teen comedy, but it’s more focused about the message of empowerment. There’s the expected bag of misfits (none of them especially quirky or interesting), the boyfriend who’s too-perfectly supportive (a sweet, charming Nico Hiraga) and the mom who gets the few comic lines (director Amy Poehler).
Overall, there’s not a lot of funny business.
