Review of Movie 43 (2013) by Vincent D — 28 Sep 2013
I'm not sure why this movie got such a bad rap. Is it a "really good" movie? No. But it's no worse than some other comedies out there. The whole Jackass series of movies is cruder than this movie, and the sad thing is in those movies it wasn't scripted sketch comedy.
It's not surprising that it took quite a while for this movie to get the green light, which is ironically the plot of a film. A man is trying to sell a movie to a production company. The movie is made up of several shorts full of crude, outright gross, and offensive storyline.
S. But aren't many movies? "Ted" (2012) and "Not Another Teen Movie" (2001) had similar elements. This is just another shock value comedy, which frankly is not my favorite, but taking it at face value--that is knowing that this is what this movie was supposed to be, it was fine.
It's not a movie for everybody--quite frankly not for most. However, despite the fact that this will no doubt sweep the Razzie Awards, and is going down as one of the worst if not the worst movie of all time, I have a feeling this movie will have a cult following.
Much like any other cult, if you are not in it, it can be hard to comprehend.
