Review of Movie 43 (2013) by Shian V — 16 Mar 2015
Not every vignette is comedy gold (Hugh jackman's sketch was unwatchable, and the truth or dare sketch was arguably worse), but there's social commentary throughout. whether it's how big movie studios throw money and garbage movies without caring (Greg kinear's Howard the duck reference was a meta explanation of movie 43), how girls are forced to learn about their bodies in a male-centered society, or the idiocy of the consumer populace, this movie had something to say.
maybe ive looked far too deeply into this as a way to rationalize the 97 minutes of poop and gore I watched, but good or bad it's worth a watch.
