Review of Moulin Rouge! (2001) by Matt M — 22 Jun 2013
The love story between two artists, a struggling writer and a dancer of the famous Moulin Rouge. A lavish production fully representational of the most delightful and creative side of Luhrmann's over indulgence, Moulin Rouge is a majestic spectacle of visual extravagance with a fair share of post modernist touches which is nevertheless able to capture the heart of its audience by employing the simplest of melodramatic structures.
A great end to Luhrmann's renowned red curtain trilogy.
