Review of Mother and Child (2009) by Benn B — 26 Jun 2010
Solid and emotionally involving. Tackles all aspects involving adoption ... the children who are adopted, those who gave up their child for adoption, and those hoping to adopt and all the potential implications involving each.
Naomi Watts is especially great as an emotionally blank, independence-driven lawyer. She never does wrong in my opinion. Annette Bening and Kerry Washington are very good as well. Samuel L. Jackson steps out of his norm and does a nice job too.
I think most women would find this film very involving. The storyline involves characters whose lives eventually end up intersecting, but it's not part of an "aha" moment here or the shocking culmination.
