Rodrigo Garcia has yet to fail me in any of his directorial efforts; and this includes the TV series, In Treatment. Powerful film about adoption and motherhood. Although it may seem dreary, I found the film quite hopeful.
The female ensemble transcended what could have been a maudlin subject. I also have to mention that this is one of Samuel L. Jackson's more subdued performances. He has to keep this up. I almost thought he was miscast.
