Many people who did not like this movie do not seem to realize that this is a metaphor. Just focus on the narcissistic man who drains his companions out of all his love and spits them out for the next, younger model.
The real story here is life on earth, represented as the house before, during and after the presence of mankind. The husband of mother nature is the creator, God. The history of Genesis of man is developed from the perspective of mother nature.
In this house you will see the Eden, the Apple, Adam, Eve, Cain and Capaz, the great flood and other biblical events that are all symbols of the human struggle, human nature and our values that tend to lose the forest by the trees to times.
It is a warning of where we are going if we do not stop and pay attention to this house that provides everything.
