Mother! is the weirdest film I've seen. Acting on its own, the first two thirds are a tense thriller that goes off the rails in the third act. As an allegory for religion, particularly Christianity, mother! makes a lot more sense.
It is well acted throughout and definitely worth watching. Despite that, I can't properly convey my thoughts on this - maybe it needs another viewing with the allegory in mind. For now, I'd recommend anyone see it - it might be garbage, it might be a masterpiece, but it's worth watching either way.
