Review of mother! (2017) by Meagan T — 07 Dec 2017
The cinematography was beautiful; I was very intrigued in the beginning but disappointed by its irresponsible story telling. It got so bizarre so fast that it was impossible to get a foothold in, get attached to a character or care much about what happened to them.
It was so stuffed with different metaphors and themes that it completely devolved into confusion and pointlessness. Even a metaphorical story should be able to stand on its own, and allow the viewer to draw their own conclusions about its meaning.
This story just beat you over the head with the 'message.'.
