Mother! is a disturbingly brilliant film by Darren Aronofsky with terrific performances by Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. The religious/mother nature allegory within the film was completely unexpected but welcomed with its beautiful execution.
In a way, Mother! reminds me of the creepy, unsettling nature of Kubrick's 'The Shining', focusing on the characters and the environment in which they live as a means of building tension and suspense.
.. Definitely one of the most intense movies I've ever had the pleasure of seeing.
