Blimey, talk about allegorical. Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler, er.. Noah) ladles on the imagery that is more likely to upset my Christian friends than even the third instalment of His Dark Materials.
No spoilers as there would be nothing left for you to work out. However despite this negativity it's impressively staged and you can see how the always convincing Jennifer Lawrence ripped her diaphragm from screaming and hyperventilation.
If this was a 20 min short film it could have been one of the best cautionary parables of all time. In this format it creeps over into the good pile with ***.
