Impressive visuals and "deep" metaphors don't make up for how disjointed the movie was. Felt like it was trying to push multiple messages (climate change, fame is bad, religion is a cult, etc) that it ended up diluting it all. The second half of the movie devolves into the best unintentional comedy movie of the year just because of how out of place every scene feels. Goes from insanely serious to hilarious the next.
Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood to appreciate it, and maybe my opinion will change on a second watch. I'm not sure I'd want to subject myself to another viewing though.
