There is a lot I want to say about this film. First, it has been promoted incorrectly. If you are expecting a fun Halloween psychological thriller, then you will probably abandon the theater. Instead, expect an art film with social commentary.
Second, every bad review of this film I have read reveals that the reviewer did not understand that this film is an allegory. Once you determine the hidden story (or Google it later), it might be fun to identify all of the reference imagery and it will explain why the characters must behave so infuriatingly.
There is more I want to say, and that's why I'm rating this film so highly. On the other hand, there wasn't enough character development for me to give any shits about the main character as she was terrorized by strangers, so that maybe could have been improved.
