This movie isn't for everyone in the most spectacular way. It reminds us there's a fine line between serenity and tumultuousness. The abstract nature of the film effectively delivers its mind bending messages through the perspective of the inevitable.
Technically speaking the movie is crafted with care. I especially loved the sound design which served to pull me deeper into the symbolic torrent. The acting was impeccable with everyone at the top of their game. And, of course, Darren Aronofsky proves again he's one of the bravest and intellectually stimulating writer/directors of all time. A true groundbreaking masterwork. Rex Reed's a smelly piece of dog shit.
