Mother! is absolutely brilliant. It is beautiful and terrifying. I cried and laughed simultaneously for some time.
Aronofsky develops as a film maker and I develop as a human. mother! evoked an experience in me of the same magnitude as my experience watching The Fountain and Requiem for a Dream as a teenager.
If you aren't familiar with these films - be warned they are very very intense experiences. If you want to be comfortable and safe look elsewhere. If you want to experience art that sticks with you in a profound way, go see mother! in the theater.
