Review of Mother (2009) by Redjet3 — 18 Sep 2017
I understand why people would call this pretentious, and if you don't see the symbolism then that's your loss because it brings so much to the story. That being said, while it was more on the chaotic side, I was invested in this movie.
It makes you feel so unsettled and annoyed much of the time -- but that's the point. You wanted to pull certain characters out by the hair just seeing what kind of things Lawrence's character had to experience.
Not going to lie, I had to look up what some of the things represented. I wish that I had a better understanding of the bible before I came in because the story is very biblical.
