Review of Mostly Martha (2001) by Cris F — 08 Feb 2005
Mostly Martha was a pleasant surprise for my weekend viewing. The story begins with a highly-skilled chief, who is also a bit neurotic, talking to her therapist. During the movie, some good things and some not so good things happen to her that change her life.
Due to the death of her sister, she ends up talking care of her niece who like Martha is hard to get to know. Martha tries her best to console her grieving niece. At one point she says "I wish there was a recipe I could follow for you".
If you like a movie that mixes themes about cooking and life changes and stirs it lightly with comedy, this should be your next pick.
