Review of Mostly Martha (2001) by Sylvia L — 25 Jul 2008
Like the main character's perfectly crafted dishes, the film is a well-balanced story -- partly about the art of cooking, mostly a psychological portrait of a woman with a unique gift and career. Thrown in gingerly are a little bit of philosophy (in a very German way), a touching story of her relationship with her orphaned niece, and just a little bit (not overpowering) of sweetness and humor in a romance with a chef colleague.
